"Many times I have learned that, you should never judge a book by it's cover. Like people, it is the inside that counts"(Hale). As kids we learn never to judge people on how they look but for who they are. "Adri's eyes narrowed. "You little thief. How dare you come here and make a mockery of this family." She jutted her finger over Cinder's shoulder toward the grand staircase. "I command you to go home this instant before you embarrass me further""( Meyer 339). In this excerpt Adri yells at Cinder for going to the ball and commands her to go home. Throughout Cinder, Adri and Pearl treat Cinder terrible just because she was a cyborg. But in Winter everything changes for Cinder. "Adri's gaze dropped to the floor. She and Pearl both lowered into uncomfortable curtsies.
"Your Majesty," said Adri..."(Meyer 783).
In the beginning Adri and Pearl treated Cinder as if she was nothing but a piece of junk. But in the end Cinder became Queen and they are forced to treat her with respect. It goes to show that you should treat everybody the same because one day the person who you picked on will become one of the most powerful person of all. This proves that the theme of the Lunar Chronicles is to never judge a book by its cover. But there is also a lot more evidence in this series to prove that.
"We replaced all of your teeth, otherwise there won't be room for the canines"(Meyer 485). "His torso was marred by numerous wounds and scars, both old and new"(Meyer 528). Even though Ze've looks like a monster with sharpen teeth, scars and claws. But through all of that he is actually a really caring guy.
Then you also have Cress. Cress is a small dainty girl who grew up confined in a satellite. But she is one of the most crucial parts and is very dangerous. "...inaccessible, My Queen. I can't... I can't access the shuttle schedules, the manual overrides...even the entrances to the main platform have been locked. With...with the exception of the corridor connecting it to these docks, which alone was left unimpeded "(Meyer 187). Cress was able to hack into one of the most complete security systems and white out her doing that Cinder could have never gotten away from Levanas palace and flee to the outer. Cress was also the one who was able hack into the system and play Cinder's videos to start the rebellion.
